Dear Friends and Family,
Many of you may know that Jo-Anne Howe recently retired after 26 years of working at Toronto Rehab and teaching in the Department of Physical Therapy, University of Toronto. Her contributions are many: spanning health systems and the professional development of thousands of students.
A recent article in UHN News and on the Toronto Rehab Foundation website about TIME™ quite aptly describes just one example of Jo-Anne’s greatest achievements. This innovative program is now established in 40 community centres across Canada, empowering fitness instructors with the knowledge to safely provide exercise programs for individuals affected by balance and mobility challenges, enhancing their quality of life and health wellness.
In recognition of her extraordinary dedication and contributions to rehabilitation, our community, and to patients at Toronto Rehab, her colleagues have established:
The Jo-Anne Howe Fund: Enabling Health and Well-being in the Community
Her career and professional work has focused on promoting quality of life for our patients. This fund continues her legacy and will support ongoing education and access in the areas of fitness, well-being and health promotion for people transitioning to, or living in, the community.
To assist in building a healthy fund that will sustain support over several years, please consider making a donation in Jo-Anne’s honour atwww.joannehowefund.com
